Forcing a person to participate in sexual activity for money is charged as Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude, or Sex Trafficking. A woman with previous convictions for Prostitution has been charged with Sex Trafficking of both adults and minors. According to the report, the woman would use social media to recruit women and girls and then coerce and force them to have sex with people for money – including beating and pouring bleach on them. The woman was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude.

The Arapahoe and Douglas County, Colorado law definition of Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude and Human Trafficking of a Minor for Sexual Servitude – C.R.S. 18-3-504 – is:  

(1) (a) A person who knowingly sells, recruits, harbors, transports, transfers, isolates, entices, provides, receives, or obtains by any means another person for the purpose of coercing the person to engage in commercial sexual activity commits human trafficking for sexual servitude.  

(2) (a) (I) A person who knowingly sells, recruits, harbors, transports, transfers, isolates, entices, provides, receives, obtains by any means, maintains, or makes available a minor for the purpose of commercial sexual activity commits human trafficking of a minor for sexual servitude.

Because the woman used force and coercion to use women and minors for commercial sexual activity, she was charged with multiple counts of Sex Trafficking and Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Sentence for Human Trafficking and Human Trafficking of a Minor in Adams and Jefferson County 

Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude is a class 3 felony, punishable by 4 to 12 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections. Human Trafficking of a Minor for Sexual Servitude is a class 2 felony, punishable by a mandatory sentence to prison of at least 8 years and up to 24 years.
