It is extremely difficult to uncover the truth when it comes to Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault on a Child cases. Generally, these types of crimes are committed in secret, and usually involve only two people – the defendant and the alleged victim, plus false allegations of Sexual Assault are common. This makes it almost impossible to really know what happened, which leaves a lot up to the interpretation of the district attorney. This is why it is important to hire an expert criminal defense lawyer if you've been charged with a sex offense in El Paso, Denver, or Adams County. To illustrate just how convoluted sex crime cases can be, let's take a look at a recent article I read which discussed a Democrat hero who has recently been arrested for Sexual Assault.

Obama Supporter / Democrat Hero Accused of Sexual Abuse

One of Obama's biggest supporters, a Democratic party hero and real estate developer, has recently been charged with the Colorado equivalent of Sexual Assault. The allegations against him involve a sexual tryst with the philanthropist, his current boyfriend, and a 15-year-old boy. According to reports, the two men found the teen through an app, and then met him at a hotel in another state. The developer and the other man have both been charged with sex crimes. In Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson County, and across Colorado, the two most likely would have been charged with Sexual Assault – C.R.S. 18-3-402. Now, before you think this is an open and shut case, it's important to understand who made the accusations. The partner of the developer (who has also been charged), was the one who reported the incident.

Extortion Plot, Revenge, or Sexual Assault?

The developer's criminal defense attorney has issued a statement, saying her client is actually a victim in the situation. She says he is the victim of an extortion ring, and has been cooperating with the police. According to reports, the developer and his partner in crime had been involved in a nasty public breakup, and some images were at the center of the extortion plot. Obviously, we don't know the truth of what actually happened. But the complexities of this case are a good example of how many sex crime cases really are – convoluted and full of false allegations and lies. Illicit sex has many hidden consequences.
