Located under the Kidnapping section of the Colorado Revised Statutes, Enticement of a Child is charged when a person tries to lure a child into a car or secluded place for the purpose of sexual contact. Lakewood police are currently searching for a man who is accused of trying to lure a boy into his car. According to the report, the boy was walking home when the man pulled up in a dark car and asked if he wanted a ride. The boy refused and the man drove away, but apparently came back and demanded the child get in the car. The boy ran home and reported the incident to his family. If the man is ever caught, he would likely be facing Attempted Kidnapping or Enticement of a Child charges.

A person commits the crime of enticement of a child if he or she invites or persuades, or attempts to invite or persuade, a child under the age of fifteen years to enter any vehicle, building, room, or secluded place with the intent to commit sexual assault or unlawful sexual contact upon said child. It is not necessary to a prosecution for attempt under this subsection (1) that the child have perceived the defendant's act of enticement.
