Merry Christmas from a Sex Crimes Defense Attorney in Denver

Merry Christmas from the sex crime defense attorneys at the O'Malley Law Office.
Merry Christmas! We are very blessed to celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ this day. Christmas is a time to enjoy our families; a time to feast and share gifts. But, most importantly, it is a time to celebrate the birth of the Son of God and an important part in the redemption story. We are often asked how being a Christian affects our work as sex crimes defense attorneys as we work with people charged with Sexual Assault – C.R.S. 18-3-401, Incest – C.R.S. 18-6-301 and Indecent Exposure – C.R.S. 18-7-302. This is the perfect time to describe how our faith affects our lives and our work.

Why Our Faith Affects Our Work as Lawyers

When we work with our clients, we don't judge their actions. We understand that we too are sinners. We need the constant grace of God. We need mercy and the forgiveness of sins. This is what Jesus came to do – to save the least of these among us – the sinners and the downcast. We have been forgiven much, so we feel very blessed to share the mercy of God with others and help them in a very dark time in their lives after they have been accused of or charged with a crime in Arapahoe, Douglas or Larimer County.

God is Justice – So We Fight for Freedom

Our God is a just God. It is simply who He is. We fight for justice in Denver, Adams and Jefferson County. We don't believe simply walking into a courtroom and pleading guilty is justice. We understand that reconciliation, healing and redemption are what really help our society. We work with clients who have been falsely accused. In these cases, we fight for their freedom and to rebuild their reputation. If our clients did commit a crime, we want to help them overcome the sin in their life and not be crushed by the consequence of their actions. District Attorneys and law enforcement agencies often overcharge people after a crime is committed. They identify the most serious offense they can charge in order to punish the “bad guy” without mercy. Often, we can work out a favorable plea deal for our clients. In exchange for pleading guilty to an offense, they receive a lesser sentence. We understand that treatment and rehabilitation are key elements to a person's future and we work hard to ensure our clients receive fair treatment.
